Presentation

i2BASQUE is a Plan Euskadi en la Sociedad de la Información programme, developed by the Basque Government Education, Universities and Research Department.

It focuses on supporting the RDI Community in the Basque Country, providing telecom and ICT service infrastructures to Basque Science and Technology Network players:

  • State and Public Universities: UPV/EHU, Deusto, TECNUN, Mondragon, UNED
  • Science and Technology Centres
  • Hospitals and Biomedical research
  • R&D management entities

Infrastructures

The main i2BASQUE infrastructure is the Communications Network. It consists of eight routers and twelve POPs connected by four 2.5 Gbps SDH links, and eight fiber optic links.

i2BASQUE also has a link with RedIRIS at UPV/EHU – Leioa Campus. RedIRIS is our connectivity provider at national and international level.
